What is IRC?

Basically, "Internet Chatrooms"

Short for Internet Relay Chat, a chat system developed by Jarkko Oikarinen in Finland in the late 1980s. IRC has become very popular as more people get connected to the Internet because it enables people connected anywhere on the Internet to join in live discussions. Unlike older chat systems, IRC is not limited to just two participants.

You can join different "chatrooms" on a network, just like you can join different servers on those huge minecraft hub server thingymahjigs.

IRC Etiquette

You might also want to read up on some IRC etiquette to avoid appearing as rude, or mistaking others as being rude. Text is different than talking - there's no tone of voice in text, but has the benefit of being recorded, and re-read as many times as you wish.

Registration

We strongly encourage users to have a registered nickname to prevent others from using your desired nickname. You can do this all in your web browser by clicking here
